HVAC Google Ads Performance Audit

Google Ads performance audit for a local HVAC company

An example of the Precision Ads Google Ads performance audit — the account areas reviewed, the way findings are documented, and how recommendations are prioritized.

DEMO / SAMPLE DATA — Garden State HVAC is a fictional example created by Precision Ads to demonstrate the audit process and report format. No figures shown here were taken from a live client account.

  • Conversion tracking
  • Call tracking
  • Geographic targeting
  • Campaign segmentation
  • Ad creative
  • Budget allocation
01Objective

Understand what the account is actually doing.

The audit reviews a local HVAC account end to end: how conversions are recorded, how campaigns are structured and funded, where ads are shown, what the ads say, and where the traffic lands.

The purpose is not a score. It is a documented list of what is working, what is being wasted, and what should change next — in priority order.

02What The Audit Reviews

The issue types this review surfaces.

Each area below is assessed and marked Strong, Needs Attention, or Critical, with an observation, why it matters to the business, and a specific recommendation.

  • Duplicate call conversion tracking
  • Campaign structure and budget allocation
  • Geographic targeting
  • Ad creative and RSA structure
  • Landing-page alignment
  • Negative keyword opportunities
  • Lead-quality measurement
  • CRM attribution

Duplicate call conversions are the most common measurement fault in home-services accounts — the same call counted twice inflates every downstream decision.

03Structure & Targeting

Where the budget goes, and who sees the ads.

Campaign segmentation is reviewed against the way the business earns: emergency service, repair, and replacement carry different urgency and different value, and should not share one undifferentiated budget.

Geographic targeting is checked for radius accuracy, location-of-presence settings, and whether spend is landing outside the actual service area.

04Creative & Landing Pages

The ad, the query, and the page should agree.

Responsive search ads are reviewed for asset count, headline variety, pinning discipline, and whether the message matches the intent of the keywords in the ad group.

Landing pages are reviewed for message match, visible phone number, mobile load behavior, and whether the primary conversion action is obvious without scrolling.

05Strategic Takeaway

Fix measurement first, then structure, then creative.

Measurement problems are addressed before optimization work, because bidding and budget decisions inherit whatever the conversion data says.

Once the signal is trustworthy, structure and budget allocation are corrected, then creative and landing-page alignment — each change evaluated against a conversion action that can be believed.
